Approved EIA Consultants in the UAE

New projects – whether in the industrial, construction, power & water or development sectors – will require an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report to be submitted as part of the approval process. The same often applies to modifications, expansions or demolition of existing facilities.  Failure to submit an EIA report through an approved EIA consultant can lead to serious delays in obtaining final approval and subsequently, operating licenses. In certain cases, this can lead to applying penalties on the operating facility.

When looking for a consultant to prepare the EIA report, it is extremely important to find the right one.  The most important criteria is that the consultant should be on the approved list of the relevant body that will review and approve the report. Different authorities have different requirements and their own specific guidelines which must be followed.  Submitting a report in the wrong format or with insufficient detail will result in rejection and delays in report approval which in turn delays the project and increases costs.

An experienced consultant will be able to advise project proponents on whether a full Impact Assessment is likely to be required for the project, information needed in order to undertake the environmental assessment and approximate timeframe for completing the study and submitting it for review.  Dome has extensive experience in all types of Environmental Assessment studies and has successfully submitted more than 1,500 reports for review and approval.

Some consultants are only approved for certain types or sizes of projects and most authorities publish the details on their websites.  Dome is approved for almost all types of projects by a wide range of authorities including:

  • Environmental Agency Abu Dhabi  – Class A consultant
  • ADNOC Group companies
  • Dubai Municipality
  • Ras Al Khaimah EPDA,
  • Fujairah Municipality,
